The Mission to Seafarers Canada is committed to using your donations effectively and transparently. As a registered Canadian charity (No.: 734345689RR0001), we adhere to the highest standards of financial accountability.
We understand that donors may wish to direct their gifts toward specific programs or initiatives. This page explains our designated giving policy and how we handle donor preferences.
When you make a donation through a fundraising page, your gift supports the mission of The Mission to Seafarers Canada as a whole. This allows us to direct funds where they are needed most, ensuring maximum impact for seafarers worldwide.
Our programs include:
Donations made through individual fundraising pages on our platform are received by The Mission to Seafarers Canada. While fundraisers may highlight specific aspects of our work, all donations contribute to our overall charitable mission.
In accordance with Canada Revenue Agency guidelines, The Mission to Seafarers Canada maintains discretion over the use of all donated funds to ensure they are applied where most needed and in compliance with our charitable purposes.
If a specific program or initiative receives more funding than required, excess funds will be redirected to support other areas of our mission serving seafarers and their families.
If you have specific questions about how your donation will be used or wish to discuss a major gift with designation preferences, please contact us directly. We are happy to discuss how your generosity can best support our mission.
